Who are we looking for

Our fellows are individuals who are passionate about an art form or sport/game and have immense expertise and experience in it. They strongly believe that the opportunity to learn it should be accessible to all children and commit to making it possible through and beyond fellowship. They have the courage and grit to teach art education and sports in nation’s most under-resourced schools and enable children to discover their talent, unlock their strengths, pursue their passion and excel in their limitless ways.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum 19 years of age.
  • Must commit to working on Saturdays.
  • At times, we host training sessions or meetings on Sundays and public holidays. You must attend these if hosted.
  • Immense expertise and experience in the activity that you’ll be teaching children.

Process to Join The Fellowship

Stage 1 - Application

Choose the activity you want to teach children. Please note that you must have immense expertise and experience in it.

Performing arts – Music, Dance, Theater, Storytelling / Poetry

Visuals Arts – Drawing and painting, photography, crafts and sculptor making

Culinary Arts – Cooking

Sports and Games (Any of your choice)

Stage 2 - Selection

  • If successful in your application, you will be invited for the selection process.
  • The selection process has 2 rounds.
  • Round 1 – Take a demo class of 7 minutes and to teach the chosen activity.
  • Round 2 – Interview

Stage 3 - Training

You’ll be given teacher training before and during the fellowship to be efficient and effective in the work you do

Stage 4 - Fellowship

  • Fellowship begins after the initial training.
  • Fellows are allotted their schools.
  • Fellows attend school on every working Saturday and teach children

  • Identify your talent and passion that you want to teach children. There is no restriction to it.
  • Find more people who share the same talent and passion. Form a team of 2-3 members.
  • Register your group.
  • If you are not able to find any members, you can register alone.
  • Note: The fellowship will start from the first week of November 2018 and continue till the last week of March 2019. 

APPLY NOW

  • If successful in your application, you will be invited for the selection process.
  • Here, for the first round, you will teach your activity for 7 minutes.
  • If selected, you go for the final round, that is the interview.

Fellows will have training which will involve:

  • Leadership development
  • Classroom practice
  • Entrepreneurial development
  • Fellows will be allotted their schools and children.
  • They will teach extra-curricular activities to children on every Saturday.
  • Fellows will work with the communities where our children come from.
  • With the community members, they will identify the community problem.
  • With the community members, they will solve the community problem.
  • After the fellowsip, our fellows become our alumni.
  • Our alumni is exposed to various opportunities in other social enterprises.
  • Our alumni is supported in various ways to lead in the development sector.
